The Zoological Society of London is looking for active researchers to join the Editorial Board of Journal of Zoology.
Journal of Zoology publishes high-quality research papers on all areas of zoology, including animal behaviour, ecology, physiology, anatomy, developmental biology, evolution, systematics, genetics and genomics. We aim to provide a platform for research that tests hypotheses and is of broad general interest.
- Active researcher with a PhD in a field relevant to journal scope
- Strong publication record for current career stage
- Experience of refereeing for peer review
- Expertise in relevant subject areas
Although previous editorial experience is desirable, we encourage early career scientists to apply even if they have not previously worked as an editor.
Making initial assessments of the suitability of manuscripts
Selecting appropriate peer reviewers
Making recommendations to the Senior Editor on the basis of the reviews received and your own expert opinion
Assist the editorial team in promoting papers via video, podcasting and the media
Acting as an ambassador for the journal at conferences and engaging with the journal through blogs and social media, as appropriate
